Guernsey Goat Auction
When the Guernsey Goat Trail comes to an end in August 2020 all of the goats will be auctioned in September to raise funds for Autism Guernsey and GALP. These funds will help both charities to continue their important work supporting individuals in the Island of Guernsey with autism or literacy difficulties.
The auction will take place on Thursday 17th September 2020 at 6:30 pm. The event will begin with a reception at 6:30 pm followed by the auction at 7:30 pm. The reception will include a light buffet and a glass of wine or soft drink.
The auction will take place at St. James Concert & Assembly Hall, College Street, St Peter Port.
The auctioneer will be John Burley assisted by John Randall.
What Are the Cost of
The Tickets for The Auction?
The tickets will be £10 each to include a glass of wine and a light finger buffet. These will be on sale from Autism Guernsey at a later date.
If My Bid is Successful, How
Do I Pay for The Goat?
Payment must be made on the night by electronic transfer, debit or credit card or by cheque made payable to 'Autism Guernsey'.
What is Guide Price?
While it is difficult to assess the likely amount that any Goat may sell for, we believe a bid in excess of £800 should secure a sculpture. However, prices realised could be higher and we expect many Goats to sell for considerably more.
Commission bids will be accepted nearer the date of the auction to a dedicated email address. Further information to follow.
How Much Money is
Expected to be Raised?
We are hoping to raise in excess of £50,000 from the Auction alone.
Raffle Tickets to win one of the Goats will go on sale on Sunday 7th June until Wednesday 16th September. The Goat to be raffled will be on display near Liberation Monument and tickets will be available to purchase at £5 each on the Crown Pier on 7th June and thereafter from Savills Estate Agents at the Taxi Rank opposite the Weighbridge. The raffle will be drawn at the Auction on 17th September.
